Nim
Nim is a duo formed in Athens, Georgia. Andrew Mansberger (Philadelphia, PA) originally hails from Michigan and has performed solo under the moniker Frank Fuzz. Ariel Ackerly (Athens, Georgia) is an Appalachian dulcimer player interested in serendipity in noise. Driven by the characteristic plucky, bright sounds of dulcimer and banjo and the sensuous joy of sound-making, Nim’s “songs” are meandering improvisations with an ear for the pastoral and interpersonal. Ackerly and Mansberger were neighbors in Athens, Georgia. “Name” is their first album.
