“This project got started right after covid hit when my dad showed a video of Fatou Seidi Ghali playing a beautiful fingerstyle guitar piece in a rhythm that moved me deeply but i didn’t understand it in a musical sense. I then spent the next two years trying to learn it by ear. I also was inspired greatly by Group Doueh of the Western Sahara, Maleem Mahmoud Ghania of Morocco and various Ethiopiques compilations. Through learning the techniques, new tunes sprung out. I was blessed to meet the musicians that brought the vision of a psychedelic north african style band to life. I love making people dance but exciting them with something different.” Jeremy Kiran Fernandes
